Subject: Brilliant on a few levels
I enjoyed the crud out of it.
And giggled at the implications.
Hey. I didn't make this mess of a society, I just desperately try to ignore it so I can sleep soundly at night.

It's a mistake to call this a "tribute," as a tribute would rather be in the spirit of the original series, which this is not. The Pat and Mat characters are good-natured bunglers, whereas these versions of same are a bit too capable--of anything. It's a well-done takeoff on the original insofar as the look, sound, and pacing are concerned, but the original shorts are consistently funny throughout, whereas this relies on one big suckerpunch at the end. Search for the original series on youtube and enter a less hostile world.

... be a gamer to understand it and to have some kind of pure black humor. I think that you shouldn`t take the content of this video too serious.
Things were taken ad absurdum here and so you have to understand it from my point of view.

Subject: Superbly made and very funny ending
This animated film is superbly made and looks great. The music works very well. The ending is unpredictable and hilarious. Anyone interested in computer animated films should watch this film for a prime example of the genre. Everyone else should watch it because it is a great film.

As well as thanking the creators of this film, I would also like to thank tambora for the review, without which, I problably would have skipped this terrific film. I downloaded the 10MB WMV which looks good at full screen.

I'm off to watch this one again.

Subject: Horribly funny
I can't believe I missed this film the first time around, but, alas, I did. Well, better late than never. I was probably distracted by the crap Sector 512 was so tirelessly churning out.

This is a computer animated film, and the fairly simple animation is plenty adequate for the humorous tone. The two dumpy characters slouch their way through the plot, and the dorkily upbeat music provides a perfect backdrop.

One day, a man who seems to do nothing but sit and watch television that has nothing on it but Prelinger Archives and Commodore 64 commercials decides that he will make his own computer out of his TV so that he can play games. So he does. He invites his neighbor over to see his creation, and his neighbor, who seems unimpressed, leaves and allows him to play for the next day or so.

The neighbor, in this time, has been working on an arcade-style first-person shooter game that he projects onto his living room wall. To reveal any more of their games would be to spoil the film.

I will say, however, that the ending is the most evil darkly comic scene I've seen since the ending of Blood Simple. My mouth gaped open for a second at the horror before a torrent of subversive guffaws flew from it. I couldn't stop laughing, and, needless to say, this film immediately secured itself a prized position on my hard drive.

Kudos to the filmmakers for their animating prowess and sickeningly twisted wit. This film will have me laughing for quite a while.
